This video features my selections for the top 5 songs (in order) in Mario Kart 64 for the Nintendo 64. Often praised as a breakthrough for racing games, Mario Kart 64 was one of the first 3D racing games and it nailed every aspect of a good racer. With exciting tracks, a game-breaking item system and a highly entertaining battle mode, this game isn't often appreciated for its great music. However, this kart racing game included a soundtrack that fit perfectly into both a Mario game and a racing game. These songs coupled with great courses made Mario Kart 64 one of the most memorable Nintendo 64 titles, which is quite an accomplishment since it was released very close to the system's launch.
